New Favorite Movie

David and I got a baby-less date DAY. It was awesome. This past Sunday after church we dropped Caden at a friend's house and took off.
We started it just like a lot of other dates, with Mexican food. It's always fast, good and we always crave it.
Then we hit up a couple outlet stores in Kittery to spend a gift card. We walked around Portsmouth, NH, as long as we could stand the cold, windy day. Then headed to the movie theater. We decided Juno is the only movie we really felt the need to see. And I'm so glad we did.
We both came to the conclusion that it's easily one of our favorites. I cried several times and David even teared up. It was just so good and thought-provoking. It made me think about how blessed I am to have the life I have, my husband and baby. Besides it had so many great lines, that I can't wait to quote (once I see it again). Anyway, go see it!!

Date night with a baby

David and I love our kiddo so much that we consider going out to eat with him a date. It is pretty neat but we haven't been out as a couple in...months or more because I can't remember.

There's probably one good reason not to bring Caden on a date and that is the waiting time at restaurants. You can only stall a one year old so long. Plus, when you're dealing with the Cheesecake Factory you have to wait "55-70 minutes" Yeah this is a quote from the hostess. "So there's an hour wait" I said. "Um, 55-70 minutes", she replied back. Um, ok so we've got an hour to spare. whatever!!

I held onto our pager and David and Caden took off for the mall. I was so bored people watching and usually that doesn't happen, maybe it was just boring people. My guys came back and David tells me he didn't have to find anything for Caden to do because he was content following the line along the entire length of the mall floor.

We ate, we laughed and we enjoyed Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake (not my favorite, I should know better than to deviate from chocolate) at home while watching "Wayne's World". Happy Date night to us!!

Snow Fort

We went a step further this snow storm and decided we should make a snow fort. David and I got really into it and Caden just kept trying to knock it down, but we prevailed. And of course to get the full effect of a fort we had to conclude our morning by having a good old fashioned snowball fight. Caden won!

February Blog

Well, before the month is over I've been meaning to give updates about what's going on in our lives. It's ironic that I chose today because it is yet again a Snow Day. No snowmen today though. The snow hasn't accumulated much but there will probably be a foot of it tomorrow.

Caden went to his first Valentine's party this month. He didn't get any kisses, except from me! And that's as it should be! He is continuing to do well in saying all his alphabet and counting 1-5 in English and Spanish. Yesterday we finally broke down and bought pull-ups because he does often go pee-pee in the potty-sorry for all the mom talk!

Mostly I just wanted to post a super cute video of Caden taken this week. Who knows why I teach him the things I do?? Sometimes I don't think I mean to teach him anything, he's just so darn good at learning. Apparently he's picked up on the word "kapeesh" and it's as if it's a word he knows he shouldn't say but will do it anyway. (wait till you see the video)

Snow Day

Nothing better than a snow day in mid-January. We had tons of fun getting all bundled up, waddling out in the snow and packing together our first family snowman. We didn't even have to leave the deck to get our snowman underway. (Well, I did have to go inside for his face and outfit)
Caden had fun eating snow, I taught him how, then had to beg him to stop because his little


face was getting so cold. It really makes me wonder how I could have played outside in the snow as a child, I get so cold and I'm ready to go inside after 20 min. I guess the older you get the more you look at snow as a nuisance rather than an opportunity for some major fun.

Vegas Christmas

Yep, that's right, we went to Vegas for Christmas. Our disdain for airports/airplanes remains. We waited for about 15 hours for our flight to leave. David and I barely slept for 2 days and Caden took naps, but didn't SLEEP. Man, were we greasy when we finally got to our destination.

The good news is that getting there was definitely the hard part. After that it was a breeze. David and I both decided that Vegas was fun to see and do, once. And had we been single and loaded with money it would have been a blast. It was honestly more fun to sit around with the family and play games or watch Guitar Hero then go Casino-hopping.

I was amazed at how brownish everything was. I don't think I could live there and not see green grass and green mountains. It even seemed that the colors of houses and buildings were made to blend into the environment...blah. In many ways, it seems like we just went on vacation and that Christmas is yet to come.
